What is parvovirus?

Canine parvovirus is a serious and highly contagious disease that affects dogs. The parvovirus damages cells inside the small intestines of a dog, which can affect its ability to absorb necessary nutrients. The result of this means that dogs, including puppies, will become very weak.

What are the parvovirus symptoms?

  • Fever
  • Lethargy
  • Sickness
  • Diarrhoea, often containing blood
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weakness
  • Increased heart rate
  • Dehydration

If your pet is displaying any of these symptoms, please contact us immediately. Parvovirus cannot be treated at home and requires urgent medical assistance.
